Spartan Pottery was a short-lived pottery company in New Zealand that was active from 1946 to 1951. It was founded by three former employees of Ambrico Pottery: Norman Stevens, David Stewart, and Jack Aberly. The company was located in Glen Eden, West Auckland. The pottery produced a variety of ceramic items, including figurines, vases, bowls, and plates. Their pieces were known for their simple, geometric designs and their bright, cheerful colours. They also produced a line of Santa Claus figurines that were very popular at Christmas. Spartan Pottery was a relatively small company, and it only operated for a few years. However, their pieces are still highly sought-after by collectors today.
