The development of Monart Glass is attributed to Salvador Ysart, a glassblower who joined the Moncrieff Glassworks in 1922, after migrating from Spain with his wife and four sons. Ysart had previously worked for the famous French glassworks, Daum, and brought with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of glassblowing. He quickly rose through the ranks at Moncrieff and was put in charge of the company's experimental department.
