Pearlware is a type of ceramic pottery that was first introduced by Josiah Wedgwood in 1779 and produced in England from the late 18th to the early 19th century. It is earthenware ceramic body with a slightly bluish white lead glaze, developed as a substitute for porcelain, which was more expensive and harder to produce..
