A Chinese ruby-red glass 'mallow flower' snuff bottle, 5.5 cm high. Provenance: Singapore private collection. The mallow flower is associated with the successful scholar and was thus a popular motif during the Qing Dynasty. This bottle forms part of a series, all carved to follow the shape of the flower itself
