Stephens & Stokes: 'New South Wales Calendar and General Post Office Directory, 1833.' [Sydney: December, 1832.] with folding map, engraved title-page with view of the GPO, two folding tables, two folding plates (one hand-coloured), map of Mount Victoria, two views of the Mount Victoria pass by John Carmichael, and engraved advertisements for Sydney merchants including R.Broad Watch && Clock Maker, Fagan's Wellington Brewery, Peterson, Painter, Plumber && Glazier, George Ross, Boot & Shoe Maker, all in George St. Ferguson 1689. With the bookplate of G.& N.Ingleton, This was the second year of publication for the New South Wales Calendar, and it features an impressive roll-call of contributors. Of particular note is the engraved folding 'Map of the Town of Sydney 1833', engraved by Wilson from an original plan drawn by Major Thomas Mitchell, then serving as Surveyor-General of the colony. Importantly, Mitchell also contributes a 'Description of Mount Victoria', which details the building of the new pass over the Blue Mountains opened in 1832, Mitchell's report is accompanied by a map and two fine engravings by John Carmichael.
