Many Australian women played a significant role in the suffragist movement, perhaps none more so than Portland-born and Melbourne-educated Vida Goldstein (1869-1949). The State Library of Victoria holds a copy of this rare card, with the citation 'This photpgraph is a testament to the international impact of Australian suffragists, among the most progressive and active in the world. Mrs. Fisher, is actually Mrs Margaret Fisher, wife of the then current Australian Prime Minister, Andrew Fisher (1908-15)
