German- Sabre type bayonet, 1st Pattern M1898, 20 inch pipe back, leaf tip, single fuller blade. Blade ricasso stamped Erfurt under crown. Single piece wooden grip with nine groves, short backswept quillon, steel with dark patina, 1/2 inch broken off blade tip. No scabbard. An uncommon bayonet. F-GC.
