A Coolgardie miner's brooch, the brooch with pick, shovel and bucket, with centrally set nugget, and 'Coolgardie' in relief, in 18ct gold. Provenance: The Coolgardie brooch offered for sale has been in the Farrell family since its purchase in the late 19th/early 20th century by four South Australian Brothers Clarke for their sister, Mary Elizabeth Clarke (1876-1952). The Brothers purchased the brooch as a gift after some minor, short-lived success in the Coolgardie goldfields.
