Tasmania 1909 Tasmanian Garratt 'K' Class (K1) compound steam locomotive (140 x 29 x 42 mm) operated by Tasmanian Government Railways, black livery with gold trim, 2ft gauge, 0-4-0+0-4-0 wheel configuration, built by Beyer, Peacock & Co in England. Assembled by Frank Kelly from a 4 mm model kit supplied from the UK by Backwoods miniatures. (the K1 operated on the north East Dundas Tramway, which operated on some of most rugged terrain served by a railway line at the time. the locomotive is currently preserved, having served as a passenger locomotive on the Welsh highland railway Caernarfon to Portmadoc route between 2007 and 2014).
