A late 18th century German enamel and rock crystal snuff box, of oval shape with swollen sides, the hinged lid with silver claw set cabochon rock crystal magnifying panel, the interior painted with Mercury, Minerva and Amor, the walls painted with baroque floral scrolls, the base painted with classical figures in a wooded landscape. A suspension bale fixed to the top, that along with the silver mount and rim has remnant gilt wash and assay stamps. 5.4 x 4.4 x 3.2 cm.
