A rare Wi Taepa flattened vase, Wi Te Tau Pirika Taepa (born 1946, in Wellington) is a New Zealand ceramicist of Ngati Pikiao, Te-Roro-o-Te-Rangi, Te Arawa and Te ati Awa descent. He is recognised as a significant figure in contemporary New Zealand ceramics, and a leading figure in contemporary Maori clay Art., of flattened disc form with mouth to the upper edge, the body finely decorated with abstract koru motifs to both sides.
