An 1856 Tasmanian land Grant by purchase, March 1856 land grant to James Reid of 500 acres in the vicinity of the river Inglis, County of Wellington, Tasmania, signed and sealed by the Governor, Sir Henry Edward fox young. (the price of £1 per acre is detailed in manuscript and a map illustrating the grant is shown at left, also signed by William Henty, Colonial Secretary. 40 x 60 cm., the outflow of the Inglis river is in Wynyard, on the north-west coast. Reid Street, Wynyard is named after this early settler family.
