A South Sea pearl pendant necklace by Paspaley, from the 'Lavalier' collection, featuring a near round pearl of silver white hues measuring 15.75 mm, encased in a mesh net, suspended on an adjustable fine trace chain with a diamond set charm to the clasp, signed, in 18ct gold, length 400 mm to 780 mm. Condition: the pendant present in excellent overall condition, with very little evidence of wear. The pearl presents with a very good lustre, with some minor rings to circumference. Lavalier is a one-of-a-kind design, your favourite Paspaley pearl encased in a delicate gold mesh net. Lavalier is a French term, translating to 'An item of jewellery consisting of a pendant, sometimes with a precious gem, suspended from a necklace.', this collection celebrates the birthplace of our pearls. The design reflects the nautical ropes and nets used to house pearl oysters after divers have collected them from the wild. Lavalier allows your pearl to be set without drilling, just as it emerged from the oyster.
