A Russian .875 silver and gilt travelling icon, 19th century, probably St Petersburg (rubbed), 84 zolotniki, with French 'Swan' import mark used since 1893, and maker's mark Ce, the pendant style case beautifully crafted as a hinged medallion with gold strapped Trompe l'oeil silver wood grain to the exterior fastened by a pierced clasp, the interior featuring a foiled replica of Raphael's Madonna and Child; hallmarked to interior of cover, diameter 7.5 cm
