George VI silver 'Twelve Club' horse figure Sheffield 1940, maker James Dixon and Sons, a standing horse figure, on ebonised base, marked 'Twelve Club,' height 10 cm approx. Note: The Twelve Club, was born in a railway carriage in 1924 when four racing enthusiasts, who travelled regularly together between Sheffield, where they worked, and Worksop, where they lived, were bemoaning their luck on the Turf.
