A thangka of Wrathful Padmasambhava, Mid-20th century. thangka: 49 x 37 cm, including brocade: 82 x 48 cm, Note the design of the mounting brocade, which bears two red flags flanking a red star above a circle of wheat spike and a gear wheel - a conspicuous product of the communist era in Tibet post 1947. Regardless of whether or not the brocade is a later addition to the thangka, it is a unique and intriguing clashing of traditional religion and modern ideology. No reserve
