Wunda shield, Western Australia. This wunda shield in elongated ovoid form, the front decorated with fluted linear designs divided into nine sections to form a zig-zag motif infilled alternately with red and black earth pigments, the reverse with finely fluted linear engraving and raised loop handle. Carved and engraved hardwood and natural pigment. Provenance: G.Husband Collection Lake Collection, New South Wales. Approx. length 70 x 17 cm
