A medal of Academic Merit (Dux) of Australian interest, awarded to Gustavus John Birch (1820-1883), dated 1837, the circular medal awarded to Gustavus birch in 1837 from Sydney College on the site of Sydney Grammar school for academic merit. Inscribed in Latin to both sides. 6.5 cm diameter, 9 cm long.
