A Tivaevae Manu, Cook Islands, a large cotton quilt in teal with an embroidered floral applique in bright orange. Tivaevae are quilts sewn by women of the cook Islands. Often they are sewn in women's sewing groups called va'ine tini. Tivaevae have a decorative function and are often gifted to others for special occasion such as birthdays, weddings, and funerals. This tivaevae was acquired in the late 1990s. 2090 x 198 cm
