A large Egyptian wooden sarcophagus panel fragment, late period, 525-332 B.C, the upper portion of the fragment shows the outstretched wings of the goddess Mut; the lower portion shows the image of an unidentified goddess; the hieroglyphic text reads 'Mut-Isis_Osiris... Lord of the Westerners...' Nicely set within a box frame. Together with certificate of authenticity from B.C Galleries. The panel 82.5 cm x 30 cm. The frame 105.5 cm x 52.5 cm. Provenance: Purchased from BC Galleries, February 2001
