A Russian silver 84 cloisonne enamel round box, by Gustave Klingert, Moscow, 1893, of compressed circular form, decorated in varicolour enamel overall, the hinged cover and base with a rosette design, encircled with turquoise beads, and a band of repeating flowers, scrolls and leaves, hallmarked to interior of cover and box. assayed by Anatoly Apollonovich Artsybashev. 50gms total weight, 2 cm high, 5.2 cm diameter. Provenance: The collection was forged with the vendor's great grandfather, who was a Russian Silversmith in Moscow and immigrated to Italy around 1895. The majority of his collection consisted of pieces he had been gifted or collected from other silversmiths. The collection was passed to the vendor's grandfather who immigrated to Australia in 1923 and hence by descent to the current owner.
