Hafted Stone Fighting Pick from Central Australia

Rare hafted stone fighting pick, Central Australia, carved stone, bent wood, spinifex resin and natural pigments (with custom stand) a hafted pick made with a stone head. It is secured with resin to a handle made from a single piece of wood bent around head and tied with vegetable fibre. The handle is coated with natural pigment of red ochre. Length 41 x 14.5 cm. Provenance: Jeff Fischer, Adelaide. Private collection, South Australia
