Rare spear thrower (woomera), Elcho Island, Northern Australia, carved wood, spinifex resin and natural pigment (with custom stand) a wooden spear thrower painted with natural pigments. A wooden peg is secured with resin at the distal end. Length 71 x 3.5 cm. Provenance: Collected by Reverend George Cox Whilst at Mornington Victoria during the late 1930s, born 1880 Died 1947 John sharp, Hamilton, Victoria. Private collection, South Australia
