Gold At Yackandandah: c.1853, Small pencil drawing titled 'Gold Commission Camp Yackandandah', 8 x 13 cm. Alluvial gold was discovered in the area in 1852. The miners and the commissioners were accommodated in canvas tents for the first years. The 'official' tents depicted in the sketch, fly the flag showing their status.
