A pair of Japanese six panel screens, Meiji period (1868-1912) / Taisho period (1912-1926), polychrome ink and sumi and gold leaf, the right hand screen featuring a riverside residence amongst mountains, pines and blossom with figures enjoying music making and taking a boat trip, the left screen with travellers returning to a hillside retreat, figures practising elegant pursuits and circling manchurian crane, each panel 174.5 cm x 62.5 cm x 2 cm
