Sir Charles Bell (Scotland, 1774-1842), Highland Gillie, watercolour on paper laid down on card, 27 x 21 cm, note: Sir Charles Bell was a Scottish surgeon, anatomist and artist, and is noted for describing Bell's Palsy. He was a very skilled artist and aside from illustrating his own treatises, painted watercolour scenes of the local highland life.
