Llew Summers' Ominous Angel Glass Sculpture

A rare Llew Summers 'Ominous Angel' cast glass form, Summers (1947-2019) was a Christchurch born artist who sculpted for more than 50 years, predominantly with wood or bronze. This rare glass form depicts a cherubic angel balancing on one leg while the head is angled to the sky. The heavy form is made with a deep red glass. Signed to the base underside 'Ominous angel L. It is very fluid in a molten state, and its hardness, strength when set, and non-corrosive properties makes it most suitable for casting sculpture.
