A Van Diemen's Land Travel Pass Issued to A Ticket-of-Leave Holder, November 1844: A travel pass issued to James Shaw (described verso as having arrived on the convict ship 'Asia 5' to serve his sentence of 7 years transportation) to permit him to travel from Morven to Campbelltown where it has been counter-signed by the receiving constable. Framed, with glazing front and rear. The town of Morven (44kms from Campbelltown), had been renamed Evandale in 1836. Shaw, a labourer, was originally from Yorkshire.
