An 18th century German violin, of the Kloz school purchased from William E. Hill & Sons of London in 1964 by our vendor's grandfather. Their receipt stating 'The back of two pieces of wood marked by a faint curl of medium width slanting upwards from the joint, the sides and head being plain. The table is of pine, the grain of medium width on the left and finer on the right: the varnish of a dark brown colour.', length 59 cm. In later case with bow marked 'W. E. Hill & Sons'. With 1964 receipt for £75 and certification together with New Zealand Customs letter dated 14th October 1964.
