A superb Papua New Guinea Ramu River war shield, stone carved of tapering rectangular form. The front decorated with an abstract triangular face between pairs of stylized eyes. The lower section with interwoven split cane. It is rare to find an example like this with ordinal painted pigment and the split cane adornment still attached.
