Regency pedestal celestial globe by John Cary, c.1818, the globe set with the stars and nebulae contained in the catalogues of Wollaston, Herschel, Bode, Piazza, Zach & C. Calculated to year 1820, the sphere made from twelve engraved gores, with constellations depicting Greek characters and mythical beasts, the whole on a turned support with lower set compass surrounded by three splayed legs with acorn feet, a/f, height 85 cm
