A gold mounted Meissen porcelain snuff-box, circa 1755, oval of slightly bombe outline and moulded with scrolls, finely painted in colours on all sides with figures in landscapes with distant villages, the interior of the cover with a portrait of two gentlemen seated at a gilt table with microscopes discussing natural history specimens, with a view of a castle and town beyond the window, the gold mounts with rocaille chasing.
