Pascal Sebah (1823-1886), group of six studio portraits, circa 1875, albumen paper photographs laid down on cards, one titled 'Circassien', another 'Dame turque voilee', etc, each 14 x 10 cm approx. (6), Pascal Sebah (1823-1886) was born in Constantinople to a Syrian Catholic father and an Armenian mother. In 1857 he opened his first photography studio in Constantinople and by 1873 was successful enough to open another studio in Cairo.
