14ct gold, pearl and diamond brooch, modelled as a star, claw-set with five rose-cut diamonds together weighing approximately 0.70 carats, spaced by seed pearls, length approximately 40 mm.

- Claw Set Jewellery - The description "claw set" in jewellery refers to a setting where the gemstone is held in place by metal prongs that resemble claws. It was introduced in the 15th century and popular during the 16th and 17th centuries.
The rose cut was the most popular form of diamond cut until the discovery of the brilliant cut at the end of the 17th century, after which its use declined.
