An impressive Michael Cardew (UK 1901 - 1983) footed bowl, of circular form with radiating spoke pattern in temmoku glaze. The underside with impressed marks for Michael Cardew and Wenford bridge. Dia. 30.5 cm. Provenance: part of the Don Chambers collection sold at Cordy's in 2006. Note: Don Chambers considered this bowl to be one of the stars of his collection and it still bears his 'Not for sale' label to base.
