An Indian brass and copper water vase (Lota), South India, early 20th century the lota or ganga-jumna lota when made of brass and copper, with a bulbous body and flaring mouth, overlaid to the neck and shoulder with bands of lotus petals in brass and copper above a diagonal chequerboard design to the body, a rosace to the underside, engraved with inscriptions to the inner rim, height 15 cm
