A Chinese .900 silver presentation bowl, Wang Hing & Co, Hong Kong, late 19th/early 20th century, reticulated with confronting dragons and a flaming pearl amidst swirling clouds, raised on a straight-sided foot ring engraved, 'H.M.S Minotaur quarter mile 1911', silver marks to base, 6 cm high, 11 cm diameter, 175gms. Other Notes: Launched in 1906, HMS Minotaur was the lead ship of the Minotaur-class armoured cruisers built for the Royal Navy, serving as the flagship of the China Station prior to the First World War. After the outbreak of war, HMS Minotaur transported Australian troop convoys during November of 1914
