A large Edwardian sterling silver tray, Walker & hall, Sheffield, 1911, in George III style, of serpentine oval outline, the swept gallery sides pierced to a foliate design and with a gadrooned rim rising towards the ends, on bun feet, the centre engraved with a presentation inscription to S.J. Jacobs, as Chairman of the South Australian Tattersalls club, from the Club's members, dated 1915, 7.5 cm high, 59.5 cm wide, 42 cm deep, 3,272g.   • Edwardian - The Edwardian period of English furniture and decorative arts design is named for Edward VII (1841 ? 1910) who was King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions and Emperor of India for the brief period from 1901 until his death in 1910. It follows the Victorian period, in turn was followed by the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. In Australia, designs of this period are also known as being in the Federation style.
