A Chinese grey Pottery ritual covered vessel, Dou, Han Dynasty (202BC-220AD), of compressed spherical form on a high splayed foot, decorated simply with horizontal carved fluting. 22.5 cm high, 20 cm diameter. Provenance: collection of Walter Hochstader (1914-2007), purchased between 1938 and 1970, and thence by descent. The Estate of the late Walter Hochstader, Aalders Auctions, Sydney, New South Wales, March 2021, lot 59.
