Beautiful 19th century French gilt silver snuff box and cover, Paris, 1819-1838, of slender pillow form, the inset cover engraved with Aesop fable of fox and stork, surrounded by flower and fruit border, above a lattice ground, the base decorated with repeating flower head pattern, total weight 72gm, 7.5 cm x 4.5 cm. Provenance: collection of the late Fredric Sinfield, Sydney NSW, 1938 - 2008
