Bob Simpson's 1961 Baggy Green Cap, Bob Simpson's 'Baggy Green' Australian Test Team cap, green wool with embroidered Australian coat of arms and the series date '1961' embroidered to the front panel. Farmer's Sydney makers label to inside crown with 'R. Simpson' typed on the label. Simpson received this cap on his selection for the series against West Indies in 1961. The series was played in Australia with Australia winning the five test series 2/1. Simpson made two centuries as well as six scores of 70 or over in his eight appearances against the touring team. He made a major contribution to Australia's final victory by hitting 75 and 92. Superb condition. Provenance: Bob Simpson gave this cap to his good friend and England Test player, Ken Barrington. It was sold by Barrington's widow by Phillip's in England in June, 2000. The cap is accompanied by two signed photographs of Simpson and some supporting documents.
