A large Chinese export famille rose covered ginger jar, mid 20th century with a rounded hexagonal body decorated with two figural narratives and two birds on branches scenes surrounded by scrolling and floral forms, a border of auspicious Buddhist objects and symbols to the shoulder, with a small circular cover and apocryphal Qianlong period mark to the underside. Height 33 cm
