A Russian bronze model 'Wolf in a Trap' after Nikolai Lieberich, Nikolai Iwanowitsch Lieberich (1828-1883), cast by Woerffel foundry, St Petersburg, late 19th century. The figure of a wolf with the left paw caught in a trap, on an oval naturalistic base, signed and inscribed in Cyrillic Lieberich and Fabr. C. F. Woerfel St Petersburg on the edge of the base, raised on an old oval wooden stand. Height 17 cm, length 22 cm, width 14 cm

It is very fluid in a molten state, and its hardness, strength when set, and non-corrosive properties makes it most suitable for casting sculpture.
