A very unusual porcelain tobacco jar and cover in the form of an old man reading the Sydney Morning Herald, Continental manufacture around 1900/1910, 27 cm high. With a newspaper butting showing the same model but with the Argus newspaper being read, that was donated to the Argus Newspaper Company in 1947. Provenance: Miss J O. Davies Neutral Bay sold to a Mrs N. L. Sharp of Toorak Gardens South Australia in 1969
