Limited edition, Alexander Von Humboldt sterling silver and wood fountain pen. Number: 0063/4810. Cap and barrel: Grenadilla hardwoodintarsia and sterling silver. Nib/Tip: Eighteen-carat white gold medium nib. Signed: Montblanc on clip. Comes together with presentation box and paperwork. The cap and barrel of the Alexander von Humboldt limited edition are made of black grenadilla hardwood. Both the ornate inlaid work and the 925 sterling silver clip and fittings are an allusion to the traditional crafts of the native Indian people, whose culture Humboldt studied during his expedition to south America. The platinum-plated 18ct gold nib is delicately engraved with a sextant ? one of the tools that helped Humboldt rediscover and measure the world.
