James short of London fine and rare mid 18th century Gregorian/reflector telescope fitted with sighting scope and fine vernier adjustment, on original tripod base, and housed in a mid 19th century Australian cedar case, fitted with original additional mirrors, optic shades and lense piece. Note: James Short's telescope where of the highest quality an supplied the Royal Society in London, and Captain James cook took two such telescopes by short on his famous voyages to observe to transit of Venus on which short was the appointed calculator.
