A very rare Chinese biscuit figure of a BoddhisaTVa, Kangxi period, 1622-1722, the finely potted six armed deity seated on a double-lotus throne, decorated in soft enamels on the biscuit, wearing a five leaf crown and holding various attributes, fitted box. 21 cm high. Provenance: J. Sykes collection, Sydney. R & V Tregaskis exhibition 30/9/1989, cat No. 22, *the inventory of Burghley House, Exeter, taken on August 21st 1687, lists, among other objects 'A Ëgod with many arms'
