A pair of miniature Chinese jade cups, possibly late Qing Dynasty, the lightly mottled celadon coloured cups of simple broad form with incised and stained magnolia designs to one and prunus to the other; both with characters and seal marks to the body. Height 3.5 cm. Diameter 5.5 cm.

The Ming Dynasty is known for its cultural achievements, including the development of porcelain, the invention of movable type printing, and the construction of the Great Wall of China.
