A doucai 'mandarin duck and lotus' bowl seal mark and period of Jiaqing, with steeply rounded sides rising from a straight foot to the flared rim, decorated on the exterior in underglaze blue, iron-red and green enamel, with two pairs of mandarin ducks divided by clumps of lotus and sedge, above a band of lappets and between double line borders, the interior with a similar central medallion, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character seal mark; together with an edition of Gunhild Avitabile From the Dragon's Treasure, and Sotheby's Amsterdam catalogue Chinese and Japanese Ceramics and Works of Art, 21 May 1996, (3), 13.8 cm diameter
