A carved soapstone figure of a Luohan and stand Qing Dynasty, 18th/19th century, seated with hands clasped around his raised left knee, wearing loosely draped robes with an incised border and foliate motifs, the shaven head with benign expression, the pale stone with areas of opaque white inclusions and reddish suffusions, traces of red, green and black pigments, the oval stand with incised borders picked out in black, box.
